Guest Home
Friends of MacGillivray
The Friends of MacGillivray is a volunteer organization that exists to assist MacGillivray Guest Home in providing comforts to enhance the quality of life for every resident.
This dedicated group some of whom have been volunteering for the past 42 years, raise funds to assist in purchases that directly provide extra comfort or programs to the residents.
They hold an annual Silent Auction & Fall Fair every September, they also raise funds all year through monthly even split ticket sales. In December of 2007 the “Friends” opened the Shalom Shop to provide a place to go for the residents.
Past purchases and monies raised have gone towards the following projects; lobby renovations, providing fine dining experiences for all units within the home, a beautifully renovated and relaxing beauty salon, major donation to the recently purchased wheelchair accessible bus, a new extension on the front deck and beautiful pictures decorating all hallways throughout the home. All monies raised by the “Friends” go directly back to the residents through many, many worthwhile projects.
Meetings are held 5 times a year and the “Friends” are always looking for new members.
